In the six months since the Legislature declared palimony agreements unenforceable unless put in writing, courts have come to opposite conclusions on whether or not the statute is retroactive.

Now, lawyers in two of those cases are seeking guidance from above, asking for permission for interlocutory appeal of rulings declaring the statute only prospective in application. Read more »
